Snow Report Party on Saturday at Kaimaktsalan!Weather Rainfall is expected tomorrow (Thursday 23/02) with South winds from noon and on. Cloudy weather will dominate at all ski resorts with limited visibility. Snowfall is expected especially in Epirus and Macedonia but from 1800 meters and over due to the high temperature, thus rainfall is expected at ski resorts (Pilio and Mainalo) which are lower in altitude. The wind will not cause any particular problems however it will be boosted up from noon and on. The temperature is expected to slightly drop. Friday: Bad weather conditions will dominate at all ski resorts with snowfalls especially heavy in Epirus and West Macedonia over 1500 meters altitude. Snowfall is expected also at the rest of the resorts but from 1700 meters and over and rainfall at resorts which are lower in altitude. The wind will blow South strong at about 50-60 km/h. The temperature will be stable. Saturday: The weather will temporarily get better as sunny weather will dominate at all ski resorts with intervals of cloudiness especially in Epirus and West Macedonia were snowfall is expected. Winds will blow SW moderate while the temperature will further drop for about 2-3 degrees Celsius. Nikos Mazarakis Meteorologist Torino 2006 has now began! Greece is taking part for the sixteenth time with 5 athlets. Between them, Vasilis Dimitriadis(skiing), Magda Kalomoirou(skiing) Lefteris Fafalis(stamina skiing), Stavros Christoforidis(diathlon) and Panagiota Tsakiri, only 16 years old(stamina skiing).
Two plastic slopes for ski/snowboard and snowtubes are set at Politses ski resort in Metsovo. The slopes are 270 and 100 meters long respectively. The ski/snowboard slope is 12 meters wide and the ascend is being accomplished via the middle lift, at the left you can see a recent photo where the plastic is getting placed on the artificial grass by an Italian workshop.
