SNOW-NEWS: Fresh snow at most ski centres!
Parnassos and Kalavryta ski centre are closed today due to strong winds blowing in the area. Following an hour's halt, lifts "Takis Flegas" and "Thiseas" are now operating at Karpenisi ski centre. At this moment, it is snowing at Kaimaktsalan, Seli, Vasilitsa, 3-5 Pigadia, Lailia, Elatohori, Metsovo, Pertouli and Pisoderi ski centres. Those friends of the snow that found themselves at Pilio on Sunday, enjoyed a wonderful day. There was an increase in the influx of people by 30% compared to last year, and the centre's management decided to extend the hours of opening on that day by an extra one hour. Lots of snow is expected this coming week all around the country, which gives an exciting prospect for this year's ski season. The "Chalet Warming Party", organized at the Snow Hawk Chalet of Menalo ski centre on Saturday 22/01, was a great success. A few initial technical hic-ups with the Snow Bus service taking visitors to the upper chalet, did not affect the party's whole mood or atmosphere, and everyone enjoyed a fun evening. The weather scene is changing somewhat these coming two days, with winds blowing from southwest and snowfalls, although substantial at most ski centres, will be limited to only higher altitudes.
