SNOW-NEWS: Roads are open – have your car chains with you.
Take great care when driving in areas where there are adverse weather phenomena. Roads may be very slippery and you may need chains. In our communication with Government Emergency Service, we were assured that the roads around the country are open. Parnassos ski center will be closed tomorrow. The ski centres of Parnassos and Karpenisi, will remain closed today due to a snow blizzard. Car chains are obligatory for those of you traveling towards Kalavryta – the roads are being cleaned regularly – the snow level at Kalavryta is 10cm, at the ski centre, an additional 40cm. A meter and a half of snow has covered Pilio. The ski centre’s operations have been suspended, but the road remains open up to the parking lots. The new Snow cam at Mainalo ski centre is now operating (viewing through Vodafone Live and in i-mode). With respect to Mainalo, only COSMOTE’s mobile telephony network is operating. TZIMAS TRAVEL Ski Bus from Thessaloniki for 3-5 Pigadia daily. Snow cameras now operating at 3-5 Pigadia, Parnassos, Kalavryta (Helmos), Karpenisi, Pilio, Vasilitsa and Parnitha (Meteocam).
