SNOW-NEWS: Now open! 3-5 Pigadia, Seli, Elatohori and Pisoderi.
At 3-5 Pigadia ski centre, the lower lift at Paradisos is open today. On Friday it is expected that lifts Sarandovrisi - a two-seater lift and one run- as well as the baby lifts at the base, will be open. The level of snow is minimal. We're expecting further news regarding Karpenisi and Vasilitsa.
Pilion ski centre reports:"It is snowing now, tomorrow we will operate the upper slopes" Menalo ski centre reports:" The first snow has begun covering the ski runs but not enough for them to open to the public. Snow permitting, the ski runs will be opening within the next couple of days. For the time being, the newly refurbished chalet is open, the ATVs (type of snow mobile) and the Snowbus (for mountain rides) are operating. Don't miss your chance for a snow fight! The centre's administration and staff wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS" Parnassos ski centre reports:" Weather permitting, all ski tracks which have enough snow will be opening up. The centre's administration and staff wish you Season's greetings, health and happiness". Until now, the snow level is not sufficient for ski runs to open. Today's snow levels: Parnassos: 25cm, Kalavryta (Helmos): 3cm (latest snowfall), Vasilitsa: 30cm (see image from snow cam), Karpenisi: 30cm, Kaimaktsalan: 35-45cm, 3-5 Pigadia: 30 cm (see image top left), Pisoderi: 40cm, Lailas: 30cm, Seli: 25cm, Falakro:20-40cm. Weather forecast: Although the weather these last days raised hopes for ski runs opening at certain centres in the north of Greece, predictions for the next few days are not so promising: 1. On Christams Eve and Christmas Day it will be sunny throughout the country with mild winds 2. On Sunday, the south-west winds will be reinforced resulting in a drop of the temprerature which will bring the level of freezing up to above 2500m. So, snowfalls are expected at very high altitudes while rain is likely in the west of the country on Sunday. Merry Christmas!
