I wish I could be there to ski and have fun in the snow, make snow angels with my arms, drink warm mulled wine after skiing, smile with my best friend, BUT I am in Hawaii, missing Greece, missing my friends and hoping to be back forever, before the snow melts, and the weather is hot in your wonderful land, filled with magical people! Most people hardly realize that skiing in Greece is a fact. The skiing season starts in December till mid April, and there are 20 ski areas to choose from. The oldest is Seli situated in the North of the country on the Vermio mountain. The most popular and largest is Parnassos. The centre is situated at an altitude of about 1.600-2.300m in Parnassos mountain, in central Greece, has twenty trails of 14 km total length and attracts thousands of skiers and snowboarders mainly from the Athens area. Compared to the rest of Europe the ski pass and accommodation are considerably cheaper in this country while the quality and beauty of the environment are outstanding and after ski entertainment is guaranteed. So, why not choose Greece for your next inter holidays. What you need is your flight ticket, a car to rent and accomondation. GUIDEBOOK FOR SKI CENTERS OF GREECE:
We inform you that the guidebook "Greek Ski Resorts" is already available for sale at the ski centers of Parnassos, Kalavrita and Pilio.
Soon it will be available at the rest of the ski centers and on our site.
SNOW CAM NEWS: A new Snow cam will be set up in Elatochori. We are also expecting Snow Cams to be operational again in Kaimaktsalan (2 cams), 3-5 Pigadia, Vasilitsa, Pilio and probably Seli, Falakro and Lailia. 2 cams are already in operation at Parnassos and Karpenissi. The Kalavrita Ski Centre and Cybex are already working together to start the reconstruction of the Center's web pages and complete the installation of 4 Snow Cams situated in the most strategic spots of the Center from the parking area until the Stiga slope. The Web Cam can be used as a security system for the Center and can be used to survey weather conditions, with a 24 hr video recorder. 4 still shots will be shown on the Internet and will be updated every hour. The next project, which we expect to undertake, is the live video transmission of shots taken from the Kalavrita town's Ski Center by wireless link.
