Yesterday's Å-mail from Smixi: "Hello people, have a good winter! Eventually our wishes came true! We are a group of 6 persons blockaded at the village Smixi of Vsitlitsa, 7km away from the ski center and unable to reach the slopes. Today, nothing was in operation. Thick snow is falling all day long. The snow is fresh, but is getting frozen. Everything shows to us that the snowfalls will continue till tomorrow noon. We hope to be soon out of here because the supplies are running out. The road from Grevena to the ski center is almost closed! Whoever, tried to get away soon came back. It was imposible for them to distinguish the road. That's all. Tomorrow, we hope to go home and come again the weekend to enjoy the powder with sunny weather!"
Intensive snowfalls at the highlands and lowlands of Greece are keeping up. Weak snowfall at the center of Athens. Snowstorm at Pilio. The roads are closed at Pilio, Karpenissi, Seli, Kaimaktsalan and Lailia. The weather conditions are intensive at central and northern country. The lowest temperature from Snow Cams is-9.7c. Salonika is in white. Expected problems: roads with snow and ice at central and northern country. The weather is getting better from today. On Wednesday and on Thursday you can be the first to enjoy the powder. From Friday till Sanday, the weather is worsening with impermanent snowfalls.
Wherever you travel take non-skid chains with and get dressed well. When you stop on an icy road surface have always the first or the reverse gear engaged and pull the handbrake. The managers of the ski centres are taking care so that roads to be clear from snow.
