Today,the intensive snowfalls at lowlands and highlands are going on. The intense weather conditions will be concentrated at central and north Greece. Salonika is in white. At Parnassos, threre is new snow of 50cm and is expected more in 24 hours. The centre is closed due to strong winds and maintanance work. The road is open. At Kaimaktsalan there is lack of wind(!) and a continuous snowfall. The center has 50cm of snow that is now packed. Expected problems: roads with snow and ice at central and northern country. The weather is getting better from Tuesday. On Wednesday and on Thursday you can be the first to enjoy the powder. Sunny weather is expected all over Greece.
Wherever you travel take non-skid chains with and get dressed well. When you stop on an icy road surface have always the first or the reverse gear engaged and pull the handbrake. The managers of the ski centres are taking care so that roads to be clear from snow.
