Snow News
We would like to welcome to the snow report, the
ski center of Gerontobrachou.
Supported by the Athens Ski Club, the center opened
in 1974 (this year it will celebrate its 25 years). It is located in Gierontobrachou,
on the Parnassos mountain, 3 km before Kellaria and at bigger height than
the other mountains. It is open every week-ends, holidays and national
holidays, and operates under almost any weather condition.
There is a ski school, a rental shops, a chalet,
a restaurant, and a cafeteria, that are open to all.
Kalavrita: The
centre will be closed for safety reasons.
Seli: This
Saturday, ski with bumps competition, organized by Drambuie.Torchlight
skiing at night !
3-5 Pigadia: This
Saturday, torchlight hacking at night, by Panhellenic Commando club.
Vasilitsa: This
weekend, Panhellenic snowdoard competition, organized by EOS Larisa and
EOS Grevena.
Kaimaktsalan: Ski,
snowrafting and 4-wheel car competition, this weekend, organized by Panafon
- Panathlon. Be there!
Vigla: This weekend,
Panhellenic ski competition, organized by SOX Florinas.
Falakro: This
Saturday, night skiing.

Week !
How to choose your snowboard!
The first thing to do is to
choose a snowboard according to your height and weight. Rental shops can
advise you. The smaller the board, the easier for starters. Choose between
a 151cm to a 156cm snowboard. Then make sure the bindings are positioned
correctly. 30 to 45 degrees in the front and 0 to 15 at the back will help
you find your balance easier. Select the angle according
to how you feel most comfortable on the snowboard. Also make sure your
boots are not too loose. For perfect control, it is important that your
heels stay in the right position and not move around in your boot. And
to be perfectly comfortable, make sure you wear something wárm and waterproof!
